- : No, I'm not. Soft-Logik will give you beta versions if you ask for them. Go
- : to the Soft-Logik BBS and read the MOTD.
-
- I do believe I mention elsewhere that I don not own (and cannot currently
- afford) a modem. Therefore the only info I have recieved _direct_ from
- Soft-Logik is a newsletter about 6 months ago telling me about additions
- to a package that wasn't yet complete. (Kevin although helpful is a beta
- tester, and for about the last month has repeatedly said "hopefully a
- week". As far as I'm aware he is not an official representative. Then
- again I could be wrong.)

-
- : Why? It's true. When was the last time MicroSloth or Corel gave you a free
- : bugfix?
-
- That was meant to be a flippant comment, smiley got lost, but I do not
- agree with the original statement. I'm sorry but unlike yourself there
- are a great many Amigans who do not have an Internet account. There are
- many who do not own a modem. Furthermore, have you considered the cost of
- a long-distance (read transatlantic) phonecall, which would take a great
- deal of time to download the beta. I do not consider lengthy
- transatlantic phonecalls to be free. Maybe you are in a position to be
- flippant about such costs. Others are not. I'm quite lucky, I at least
- have internet access. I've got 3.0h. There are some owners out there who
- still have 3.0. They haven't had anything in what must now be at least a
- year. Try telling them that SL are doing a wonderful job.
- Incidentally I've never purchased a PC or PC software, so I have no idea
- how good or bad there efforts are.

-
- : They've got teams working on the program, and a lot of the unimplemented
- : stuff is dependant on the same code - and you can't have 2 teams working on
- : the same thing. So why not add new features?
-
- To a degree I can accept this point. But there is still (3.0h) a list of
- 20+ unimplemented features. Now are you telling me that every one of
- those bugs is caused by a single piece of code. Without knowing the
- structure it's not really relavent what I think. But to the outside world
- it looks like they are playing about doing something more interesting
- than bug-hunting/feature writing. That's the way I'm beginning to feel,
- and I am a very calm, sane, and reasonable person. (That's how axe
- murderers are described on TV anyway :)

-
- : No, It's not. Use the BBS for upgrade info.
-
- I'm sorry! Would you like to tell me exactly when 3.0h (or 3.0h2) came
- out. Lets see, I got it well before XMas. It's now Feb 28. Sorry,
- slightly more than monthly. I'd say on the basis of the last few releases
- that we are about 3 monthly.
-
- : > Fourthly, for free rather depends on whether like me you are lucky enough
- : > to have free net access. For the rest, it is not free.
-
- : Net access doesn't enter into it. It's the BBS. That's free (less the cost of
- : a telephone call)
-
- Again we have this flippant attitude to a phonecall that would probably
- end up costing rather a lot. Tell me, do you actually pay your phonebill.
- Do you have a bottomless pit of dosh stashed away under your house. I don't.

-
- : Who's bragging? I have access to the same thing that _every other registered
- : owner_ (with a modem) has - I am by no means special in Soft-Logik's eyes.
- ^^^^^^^^^^^^
- Hmmm... Be interesting to find out exactly how many PS3 owners possess a
- modem. But perhaps you at least accept that there are some that don't own
- one, and ain't solvent enough to buy one.
-
- : Don't flame if you don't know the facts.
-
- I don't believe I was flaming. It's all a matter of viewpoint, and I was
- stating mine. The fact that my viewpoint differs to yours does not mean
- I'm flaming. I was under the impression that flaming was where A says
- that B is a complete ******** because.... <insert arbritary statement>.
- If you read back a page or two, the only reference to flaming was a
- statement that "you're gonna get flamed." I did not say "I'm gonna flame
- your nuts off."
